Cola-Coffee Barbecue Sauce
Cola-and-Coffee Beef Ribs: A sweet cola barbecue sauce balances out the earthy, peppery dry rub on these deliciously rich ribs. What do you do with the leftover coffee? Instead of throwing it down the drain use it in this recipe.
1 cup ketchup
½ cup brewed coffee
¼ cup dark molasses
2 tablespoons sherry vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon kosher salt
⅛ teaspoon garlic powder⅛ teaspoon onion powder
Combine cola, ketchup, coffee, molasses, vinegar, Worcestershire, chili powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder in a medium saucepan over medium-low. Cook, stirring occasionally, until heated through and flavors meld, about 30 minutes. Remove from heat, and cool completely, about 30 minutes. Transfer to an airtight container, and store in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks.
